This paper investigates socio-environmental degradation and its repercussions on indigenous people in the Amazon rain forest, focusing on deforestation and land invasions. Based on the reports on violence against these people drawn up by the Indigenous Missionary Council (CIMI) in 2023 and 2024, the study sought to understand the implications of these practices on the lives of indigenous communities and to analyze the effectiveness of protective legislation. The relevance of the study is underpinned by personal, scientific and social concerns, highlighting the urgency of discussing the impacts of illegal activities in the Amazon rain forest. The methodology employed is deductive and monographic, using bibliographic and documentary techniques to compile relevant data. The paper is divided into three chapters which deal with the evolution of deforestation, data on violence against indigenous people, and an analysis of existing legal protections. The results reveal that environmental degradation and the violation of indigenous rights are not isolated issues, but global problems that affect biodiversity and cultural survival. The conclusion underscores the need for a collective commitment to guarantee human dignity and the protection of indigenous rights, highlighting the struggle for socio-environmental justice as fundamental for a sustainable and fair future, where everyone can coexist in harmony.
