Abstract

The main objective of this research is to perform a legal and moral analysis regarding the practice of organ transprotection. This analysis will involve a general approach, considering information about this practice at a world level and, later, more specific to focus the study on the process of organ transplantation in Brazil. In recent years organ transplantation has gone from an experiment to a true therapeutic option whose main objective is to prolong and ensure a better quality of life for patients. The rapid technological development related to Biomedicine requires a necessary and frequent rethinking of ethical models. The processes of birth and death are increasingly susceptible to human intervention, so that Biomedicine appears, in this specific field, with the main purpose of determining the feasibility or otherwise of interfering. In order to provide a more effective and targeted study of the subject in question, the research will be the methodology of bibliographic review in which the positioning of various doctrines and the legislation itself will serve as a theoretical basis for the findings presented. At the end, it is expected to conclude with an analysis that truly allows understanding the practical extension of organ transplantation and its limits when confronted with moral and ethical principles.
