Introduction: The development of motor coordination is essential in the child's life especially for the improvement of his motor field and constitutes a foundation for coordinated and efficient movement. The psychomotor development of a child is a prerequisite for performing more complex tasks in school, social and sports life, and an inefficient school work will lead to serious learning problems later on. Objective: To assess the motor coordination level among school children in 4th and 5th grades of elementary school from the city public school system. Methodology: The quantitative, observational and cross-sectional research was carried out in a municipal school system school with students in the age group between nine and ten years old. The sample consisted of 107 students. In order to evaluate the level of motor coordination, the KTK test was used, consisting of four tests: Balance Beam, Single-Heel Jumps, Jumps and Transfers on Platforms. Results: The children had a higher yield in the Balance Beam, with an average of (95.2), and a lower yield in Sideshifts (78.5). The overall motor quotient of school children was 104.9. Conclusion: The work of Physical Education regarding the development of motor coordination in the school where the research was performed is efficient since most of the students had their motor coordination classified as normal.
