Introduction: Emerging infectious diseases have a significant impact on human health. In this scenario, the burden of infectious diseases in low-income countries is substantial, and the mortality rates for these conditions remain high. Therefore, it is crucial for healthcare systems to be prepared to deal with emerging and reemerging infectious diseases according to each specific demand. Objective: To determine the epidemiological profile and spatial distribution of deaths associated with infectious diseases in the Araguaia health region, Pará, Brazil. Methodology: This is an analytical and ecological study conducted with data from 15 municipalities belonging to the 12th Regional Health Center in Southeast Pará. Descriptive statistics and spatial mapping were used for data analysis. Results: A total of 24,449 deaths were recorded in the study, of which 7% (1,727/24,449) were associated with infectious diseases. Among these, the five selected diseases accounted for 30% (524/1,727) of the total deaths in this region, with sepsis occupying the first position, accounting for 24.2% (418/1,727) of the cases. Conclusion: The occurrence of deaths associated with infectious diseases was observed in the study region, with some municipalities having a higher number of cases. These results underscore the need for comprehensive and integrated interventions to combat infectious diseases in this region, in order to encourage diagnostic and record autonomy throughout the region.
