Golden Hour - Benefits for the Mother-Child Binomial and Nursing Team Performance: An Integrative Literature Review

Abstract
Introduction: Bearing in mind that childbirth is considered a very important factor in a woman's life, the implementation of good practices in childbirth and birth care, including the Golden Hour, has the objective of qualifying care and minimizing unnecessary interventions. Objective: objective of this study is to identify the benefits of this practice for newborns and what is the role of the Nursing team. Methodology: An integrative literature review was carried out, using articles available online in the Virtual Health Library (BVS) and in the National Library of Medicine (PubMed) published in the last 5 years, excluding theses, dissertations, duplicate articles and that did not fit to the proposed theme. Results: Of the 144 studies found, 9 articles were selected from the databases cited for the construction of the work. A full reading of the selected studies was carried out to identify the benefits of the practice and the performance of the Nursing team. Conclusion: It was possible to identify some flaws in relation to the knowledge transmitted to pregnant and postpartum women, as well as the need to increase the knowledge of the professional team and the parturients regarding the benefits of the practices performed at Golden Hour.
